In the summer of 2009 I decided to head out on an adventure that had been in my mind even before I really found the love of travel. The idea was to travel across Europe by rail or other means if necessary.
After quite a bit of thought, I determined my starting point, Amsterdam, and my final destination, Bucharest, Romania. The in between was pretty much left up to my whims.
I did purchase a rail pass, which would get me to almost all of my destinations. But, I left my schedule blank and headed out.
The following are my daily journal entries. Originally, I only posted them for my friends and family to read, but I have decided to share them here.
Unlike my blogs, these are mostly my daily adventures with not a lot of flourishes. As simple as they are, I enjoy going back and reading them. They take me back to the time that I wrote them and remember why I took this ambitious trek on in the first place.
Thank you for your interest and enjoy.
